INTRODUCTION
Bogota is the capital city of Colombia and is the
principal touristic destination
of the country, it has different activities and cultural centers, also it has
important night places. In this blog we are going to identify the most relevant and important aspects of Bogota’s Night
life. Bogota is well known as one of the best cities to party in Latin America.
The night life is focused especially at the north side, and at downtown. It has
big discos ready to offer the most amazing experiences, pubs and places where
you can go and enjoy a soft music or calm nights.
This blog was designed to meet the most famous sites
for dance and drink. Bogota has different sites to party, the most recognized
for it’s thinking mainly in the people wellness. These
areas are the downtown, zona rosa, zona t, parque de la 93, chapinero, primera
de mayo. In this you can find
different types of “rumba” as lasser party, crossover party, folk party and
different styles of music as, rock, hard rock, jazz, blues or folk music.
Also
we will do a small guide, where you can find easy and fastly the interesting
sites, we divide the city in nine parts, that people manage to rank in the
city, specially the foreigners that not speak well the Spanish language, in the
final part we can see a table, with division of the sites of “rumba” in Bogotá,
that we want to explain and make know to the people that read the blog.
In addition to above named also we will speak about two
important festivals: The Lasser party under the stars and the salsa at the park
are usually on the summer festival which is an activity provided by the city
hall to entertain the population. It´s well know that at the end of the summer
festival to conclude all the entertainment, several companies dedicated to
fireworks demonstrate a colorful show that is perfect to enjoy with your
relatives or friends.
Finally we collect the most important photos, address
and telephone numbers, to create a good guide, that serve for motivate to the
blog visitors to go, meet and enjoy the big diversity of sites that we will

Downtown and Chapinero
Downtown
In this area
we can find differents sites to go to dance,
first there are sites to dance
salsa like, Goce Pagano, Quiebracanto
and Casa de Citas, in this sites we can drink different alcoholic
drinks, as Ron, Aguardiente, Wiskey and the most famous drink, the traditional
beer.
Other famous
site is the Escobar Rosas this disco-
bar is very emblematic for its recognized history, it began as a pharmacy whit
the same name, it has most of 50 years, also it has been protagonist in one of
the most important events in Bogota, met as “Bogotazo”
in this event had a strong fight between two politic teams, the
conservatives and the liberals, in this
site there is a good “ rumba” because 10 years ago in this put music as: Acid
Jazz, Funk, new wave, disco, electronic and sometime salsa also there serve
famous cocktails as the acetaminophen or the doloran.
Finally there
is a site named Doña Ceci, in this zone people can listen music, since a
jukebox, also in this site sell Tequila at a good price and other drink as beer
and Ron, this sites are recognized for its service attention and for its
prices, really this site is the most welcoming in this area.
Chapinero:
The main route
to arrive to this area is by the “carrera 7”, the “rumba” is very diverse the
bar are in its most frequented for university , in this part of the blog we
will show the more important sites of this area because there are many, first we
find the “Congo Bar” there, they play tropical music as reggae ,
that make people remember the beach and the Caribbean.
Other site the
bar “Música y Café” also named “
Donde toño”, located in the street 51,
it is famous for the use of instruments as the guacharaca and the acordeon, the
music is the vallenato, music began in the north coast of Colombia, also there
is another bar named “Blossom” this is for more relaxed people, where they
listen good rock and they can drink liquor of their like, there, the decoration is beautiful and
generates a good environment.
Also we find
other recognized site named “Treffen” in
this site there are different games as billard pool and roll of games and the
music varies according to the mood of the assistants in each night. Other bar very amazing is “Noches de Garibaldi” in this place they
play Mexican music, as ranchera and boleros, there we can find to Deisy the
teletonera of Vicente Fernandez in Colombia.
Finally we can
find a welcoming bar named Bar: be this has two environments, a latin
environment and crossover environment, there are two rooms in each one the
people can dance and drink. All the above mentioned bars are the best in this
area. There is also one named: Theatron that is a very famous gay bar.

The T- zone
The T-zone is
the most popular of the places in Bogota, in this place is common find the most
recognized people of
Bogota and the country, because there is the perfect place for business
meetings, due to its great security.
The T-zone is
the epicenter of the “zona rosa”, is located in the 82th street with 13th, in
the front of the Andino mall. This zone has offered for some years the best
rumba of Bogota for the tourist and the residents of the city. This site is
characterized for its bars with balconies and its candlelit tables. These
characteristics make of these sites the most romantic and cozy of the city.
Most of these
sites are accompanied for music for every style to satisfy all the people. Also
you can enjoy of the electronic party and crossover in discos designed for your
comfort. This is one of the places that you should go when you visit Bogota.

Restrepo’s
party
In the south
of Bogotá, the most recognized place for a good night party is the Restrepo
zone, is in the street 17th and 18th south. This zone is illuminate with neon
signs in all discos, these parties are one of the best rumbas from Bogota for
the tourist and the resident of the city.
In this discos
you can find different kind of “rumba” as, crossover party, folk party and
different styles of music as, rock, hard rock, jazz, blues or folk music; also
there are many others services in this zone as restaurants, motels, and comercial
sports. You can enjoy different kind of environments depending on each person,
also you can find different effects as foam party and laser party, also the
discos in this area are characterized for its low prices, and its excellent
customer service.
One of the
places most popular in this sector is the Free Moon, this is a coffee – bar, is
located in the street 18th to 19th. This bar is a new alternative for the
community LGTB, which are always new, places for their full leisurely.

Zone “MODELIA”
In the west
zone you can find the “pink zone of Modelia”. The Pink Zone of Modelia is
located between 26th street and Esperanza Avenue with 75th and
81th. This is place where you can visit different sites. You can
meet places to spend a nice time, there are sites to only talk and enjoy a cold
beer or cocktail or any type of beverage, also there are sites to dance all
type of music, or places with more of one environment.
Although the
Pink Zone of Modelia is located on enough residential sector, this zone has the
habitual authorized schedule in the city (3:00 AM o’clock). Also it is very
important to highlight that this zone is most safe since is three or four
blocks far form a Police Station, other the zone is having large areas of
parking for the cars of the clients, There are bays of parking that have with

Club, Natural Bar and La Celosa. This last by his name it can be supposed that
is a site of Rumba vallenata but this is one of sites more visited all not by
the variety music otherwise by good price and attention also of that these
“parranda vallenata” in live.
In any of the
places of the Pink Zone of Modelia you can find a good environment. But you
should visit or have in mind to get the zone, Maite Karaoke Bar by is a site of
three environments, also it have Karaoke. Even though the disadvantage to
attend this site is that in comparison to the sites that round his prices are
much higher.

Pink zone.
The pink zone
is located between 79 and 85 streets and 11 and 15
carreras, near to Andino’s Mall; it is an exclusive “rumba” place in Bogotá; it
has many meeting points, pubs and lot of funny time.
There in a
night you can look from a romantic night beginning with a romantic dinner in a
special restaurant, then go to a pub and drink different shots and cocktails,
and if you want a wild and crazy night go to a bar or disco, looking for a girl
or man to dance.
In the pink zone is located a curious bar named “Alma”, unique in
Bogotá. It made the grand opening in July of 2007. It has a couch zone that can
reserve and made into VIP. In fact, there you can find three different stages
or ambient: the first is the funky, soul, acid jazz and hip hop; the second is
Latino and regularly programs concerts; the third stage is the electro and
house.
The bar is popular because in one only place you can enjoy different
side of the “Bogotá Rumba”, “Alma” offers during the week several workings. The
Wednesday is Salsa night and it is called Salsa 85 (doing reference to the
location); the Thursday it change into Keops (in honor to a 80’s disco, the top
in Colombia during that time), the Thursday essence is Latina, disco, rock, and
“alma” and “Keops” properties join to make a special night, Thursday night has disco
dancers with color lights, dropping ballons, etc. The Friday and Saturday is
“Alma”, with it three traditional stages.

Parque de la 93.
Another meeting point in Bogota is the 93 park “parque
de la 93”, is a touristic park in the Bogotá north, located in the Chapinero
locality, specifically in the 93 street between 11a and 13 carreras, in the
Chico zone. The access zone is from the 11 carrera, and the 94 avenue.
The park has become in an international gastronomic
center in Bogotá. In the parque de la 93 surrounding are located different
discos, pubs, restaurants, coffees and casinos. The
tourist commonly visits “La casa de la Cerveza”, “Gato negro”, “el Sitio”,
“Café Renault” and “Helados Popsy”.
The night life in the sector is really active,
because nearly are different kind of places with music and recreation.
If the tourist visit Bogotá in Christmas time
commonly the attractive of the “Parque de la 93” is the Christmas decoration
famous in all the city; from 1th December the lights and the Christmas chorus
turn on, for keep being this park one of
the most meeting point and happiness. Year to year the organizers promote concerts
and magical events full of Christmas soul and winter lights.
1 de Mayo or
“Cuadra picha”:
Also known as “cuadra picha” is a site located in the southwest in the city. It offers a variety of activities to have fun and party. If you want to get there, it is specifically located in the avenue Boyacá and the avenue “1 de Mayo” in the locality of Kennedy. It can remember you a city in Japan, because the narrow streets and the colorful buildings, that are bars, cocktail bars, pubs, and discos. Is the largest place of nocturnal entertainment of bogota and is the emporium and epicenter of rumba in the city. You can find there a lot of different sites for everyone. There isn’t any place you cant find there. There are “rumba vallenata”, techno party, crossover parties, reggaeton parties, rap parties, even you can find many rock bars. Another important characteristic is that is one of the cheapest places to party in Bogota, it is not so exclusive as other zones as the Pink Zone and T-Zone but offer similar the same entertainment for everyone as the other zones.

A very known site is the “El gran garibaldi” located
in the Avenue 1 de mayo # 69-50 these bar attracts tourist that are seeking for
a Mexican place to stay all the night whit Mexican music and mariachis. This,
whit the plaza garibaldi located in the avenue Pepe Sierra, are the best
mariachis bars in Bogotá. In this place you only can enter in couples, that
makes an especial environment for stay whit your girlfriend, boyfriend or may be
whit a friend. In the weekends it offers special shows such midnight trova,
tango or andina music. It is decorated whit the best Mexican style, mariachi
hats and photos of films whit important events of the Mexican culture. The most
important characteristic are the posters of the unforgettable mexican
mariachis. The music is in charge of Vicente Fernández, Miguel Aceves
Mejía, Antonio Aguilar and Luis Alfredo Jiménez.
Another bar
recommended in the “1 de Mayo” is Bongos Latin Club, this is a disco located
also in the “cuadra picha” specifically in Avenue 1 de mayo #69c-50 famous to
have the biggest circuits of rumba in all Bogota. The primordial thing in this
place is the tropical vibe, Bongos Latin Club offer during the week different
kind of rumba, one different style each day. The rhythms in this disco are
based on latin life, such as the “salsa, merenge, jazz”, also Bongo Latin club
is recognized for their special cocktails made with fruits and Latin-American
spices.
